In stock
Learn to make wool mittens in the traditional Norwegian style. In this class you will learn different strategies for stranded knitting in small circumferences. We will use a pattern from Skeindeer Knits. Choose the Overik pattern for an easier start to the project or jump right in with a stranded cuff edged with Latvian braids in the Effie pattern. In the first class, get started knitting the cuff, knitting to the thumb for homework. In the second class, prepare for the thumb then continue the body. In the third class, finish the top shaping and work the thumb.
Materials Needed:
- Two colors of sport weight wool, 50g each color
- Needles to get gauge and one smaller needle to work the cuff, likely in the 2.5-3mm range (if you're a tight knitter, go up and if you're a loose knitter, go down in needle size)
- Tapestry needle
- Pattern
